The salt cell runs a low current through dissolved salt and produces chlorine on site, continuously, at a steady low level, so what you're actually buying is the end of hauling jugs of liquid chlorine home in the trunk of your car every fortnight.
• Pool Leak Detection & Repair — Pool leak detection starts with a bucket and 24 hours, and that part you can do yourself for nothing. In an Irving July a pool gives up about a quarter inch a day to evaporation and that's simply the climate, but half an inch a day is a leak and worth chasing quickly.
• Weekly Pool Cleaning & Maintenance — Weekly pool cleaning isn't difficult, it's just weekly, forever, and a North Texas summer is where the weekly part goes wrong. Water at 90 degrees burns through free chlorine in about a day, our fill water arrives loaded with calcium, and one good thunderstorm off the Elm Fork will drop enough leaf litter and phosphate into a clear pool to have it green by Thursday.
